Quilt As Art

This quilt was made for hair publication, Black Hair Sophisticates, through my husband’s position at Sally Beauty Supply. It is an original design showing three beautiful Black women. The faces are made with suede and it features jewelry and real hair extensions incased in tulle. There is also hair couched around the hair lines of each lady. The fabric background and hair give the appearance of rhythm and movement. I name my quilt in honor of my little sister who passed at age 19.
