Quilt As Art

Another original design commissioned by the Denton County Historical Society to benefit the Denton County African American museum where it now hangs. Each woman symbolizes a wish. The “Three Wishes” refer to the prayers I made while working on this piece. The first is “Humanity”. The dictionary describes this as “the quality of humaneness, kindness and benevolence”. The second is “Peace”, not only in the world, but in our communities and our homes as well. The third is “Tolerance”, which I hope will be the new order of things for our country as we progress into the future.
