The Gratitude Tree
I made this quilt for an exhibit in which the theme was “Trees”. When I visited Africa, I had the opportunity to see the most impressive tree I have ever seen. It was a Baobab tree. I wanted to use it to honor and pay my respects to my ancestors who have held me up, lifted me, and given me strength.
