Quilt As Art

When we were in Africa in 2012 we bought several hand-batiked panels. When I decided to make this one into a quilt, I knew I wanted to use a lot of embellishments. I added 3-dimensional wraps to their skirts made with different fabrics, including one of my husband’s silk ties. The ladies wear beaded and braided jewelry and belts. The baskets feature heavy beading.
